sofi MX

This film has been made in an endeavour to convey the complexities of forming identities. It intends to help counter the stereotype that queer individuals "wake up one morning and realise they're queer"and educate cis-gender and heterosexual viewers on the kinds of feelings that people experience when they are questioning their prescribed identities.

The project Sofi MX was realised with the help of Kimberley Ubendran and Emma Lewis, the Social Anthropology department at the University of Kent, and with the greatest thanks to Sofi who was so willing to be involved.

Reflections

The process of making this film was highly enjoyable for both Freya and Sofi. It was a collaborative process, although Freya maintained most of the creative control over the project.
